Nconvert is not the usual image conversion app that users might have encountered up to the moment but besides its great simplicity it manages to provide a lot of functionality for those that learn how to work with it. This application does not have a graphical interface and it runs via a command line box. It makes use of a custom built set of commands and users can access the help menu in order to read and learn about all of them.
Nconvert works with more than 400 different input file types that users might have to import within the app. There are also about 40 output formats which can be used to convert images, for example. However, there are more tasks which can be achieved via this apparently plain app. Users are able to import and work with GIF, ICO and TIFF images without having their properties altered. Thus, images can retain their multipage capability or animation.
Files can be resized within seconds with the aid of Nconvert and the brightness or the contrast are just a few other options that can be tweaked. The color depth of each image can be adjusted and filters or effects can also be added onto a picture to edit it according to one’s tastes.
