Notepad2 is an alternative to the classic text editor featured in Microsoft Windows. The standard utility provides basic writing tools for users that do not need formatting or something else. This is sometimes useful, especially when coding, but it might be even better to have access to a tool which can also provide syntax highlighting and not only.
Notepad2 still uses the classic mono space font and this is useful when coding, but it brings in a series of tools which prove to be quite useful. More than 15 different programming languages are quickly recognized by the tool and the according documents are analyzed and highlighted in an instant. Every new entry in the tool is also marked accordingly.
Notepad2 allows users to make use of a good search and replace tool which works quickly, even with large documents. Multiple files can be opened at the same time and accessed via tabs. Content can be copied from one file to the other and two files can also be merged completely. There are zoom functions and indent options for those that need a bit of formatting to their documents. Also, the undo tool is able to work until the very beginning of the document so that everything can be repaired.
